IDSA has launched its 2011-2013 Strategic Plan. It is now available to download.

This is the first statement of strategy of the Irish Deaf Sport Association. The development of the strategic plan sets outs the aims of the organisation for the next three years. The IDSA’s Strategic Development Plan 2011-2013 has been developed following an in-depth-consultation process with individual members and clubs.

Geoffrey McCormack, Chairman of Strategic Plan, says:

“This is the beginning of three years plan of process and review to make a document that entails of goals, targets and aspirations for Deaf and hard of hearing participations in the coming years. This well devised document will guide us to achieve our objectives in sport and physical activities in the Deaf community.”

The Strategy’s key strategic objectives that underpin this strategic plan to ensure sustainability are:

  • Restructure membership of organisation by reviewing the Governance and Constitution
  • To administer effective and efficient administration and policy to support the increase in participation by Deaf and hard of hearing people into sport at grass roots, club and national level.
  • Substantially increasing the membership base by creating opportunities for infrastructure development at Club, Province and National level
  • Develop a programme for reaching out to grassroots youth to ensure continued participation and
  • Maintain a High Performance programme to ensure there are athletes to represent Deaf Team Ireland in competitions.
