New IDSA Swimming & Water Polo Directors

17th December 2009

IDSA is please to inform that
Deirdre Byrne Dunne is new Swimming Director and Declan Kearney is new Water Polo Director. Appointed was agreed by IDSA EC at the meeting after it was left vacant at the IDSA 42nd AGM.

Congratulation to both and there is no doubt that they are keen to develop their sports. Good luck!!

Belfast Deaf United FC v Rutherford Deaf Athetics FC

Belfast Deaf United FC will play Rutherford Deaf Athetics FC in British Deaf Football Plate Cup on Saturday 16th January 2010 at Blanchflower Stadium, Holywood Road, Belfast at 2pm.

ICSD confirmed Eoin Nolan new 100m Freestyle record.

International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) confirmed Eoin Nolan new 100m Freestyle record. Click here to view the ICSD website.

However, Eoin is on awaiting ratification for new 50m & 100m Freestyle records, which you can find at bottom of ICSD website.

Football Association of Ireland (FAI) Cap Presentation Ceremony
FAI Cap Presentation ceremony was held at Dublin City Hall on Thursday 10th December. 13 athletics & 3 staffs attended the ceremony and FAI presentation the cap to each athletics that they played at 2007 2nd Deaf World Futsal at Bulgaria & 2008 1st Deaf World Cup at Greece.

Eoin Nolan continued his swimming record breaking!!
8th December 2009

This time, he broke three Irish Deaf National records, two World records and three European Deaf records for Swimming Short Course Championship.

With Leinster Winter Swimming Championship at the National Aquatic Centre in Abbotstown on the weekend of 4th to 6th December, subject to International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) & European Deaf Sports Ogransation (EDSO), Eoin of Aer Lingus SC set a new Deaf World & European Records in the mens 50m & 100m Freestyle & European Record in mens 200m Freestyle events.

Eoin took 5.31 seconds off the record set by Nicky Lange of Germany for 200m Freestyle with time of 1.52.10, then he went on to break 0.12 seconds off the record set by Georgios Dontas of Greece in December 2001 for 25m Freestyle with time of 23.64, before he completed break his 100m Freestyle record by 0.21 seconds off with time of 51.22.

Once again, congratulation to Eoin.

Eoin Nolan broke ICSD Swimming Record, subject to ICSD approval
6th December 2009

With Swim Ireland Irish Short Course Nationals Championship at the National Aquatic Centre in Abbotstown on the weekend of 19th to 22nd November. Subject to International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD), Eoin Nolan of Aer Lingus SC set a new Deaf World Record in the mens 100m Freestyle event. Eoin took 1.39 seconds off the record set by Marko Jansen Van Nieuwenhuizen of South Africa in August 2009. Congratulation to Eoin.
