Irish Deaf Waterpolo Grassroot report
The Grassroots Strategy for Irish Deaf Waterpolo is my top priority this year. There are training sessions for underage players, coaches by Irish International players and especially to provide role models for young players by learning from senior players.
Part of the plan is to bring two young players to watch the Irish Senior Cup in Limerick. Liam Moloney and Frank Grace from Dublin Celts Waterpolo Club were chosen to attend. I hope it will benefit them and hopefully I will bring more players to attend next year.

I went to Limerick with my team mate Liam and our Team Manager Sean to watch the matches of Irish Senior Cup Championships 2008 at the National 50 Metre Swimming Pool. There were lots of good skills, which I learnt to use in preparation for 2009 Deaflympics in Tapei. I really enjoyed the trip.

The Irish Senior cup 2008 was very entertaining, preferably the semis and the final, much different from our style of play, simply adroit and skillful. It was good to acknowledge the tactics and formation, drop zone, etc.. Overall I enjoyed being there, good experience, exceptionally impressive tournament; I hope I'll play in the first division in the near future. Also it was some craic at the weekend... I recommend that for next year, it's a MUST... Lastly, I want thanks Sean for coming up with the idea of bringing young players to watch higher standards polo and for my free accommodation.
